In India, malaria significantly endangers pregnant women, causing complications like severe anemia, preterm labor, miscarriages, and placental malaria, which restricts fetal growth and can result in low birth weight or developmental issues. Plasmodium falciparum, the most dangerous species, is especially likely to cause severe outcomes in pregnancy. Managing malaria in pregnant women involves early diagnosis, prompt treatment with safe antimalarials, and preventive measures like insecticide-treated nets. Government guidelines emphasize regular screening and prevention, but challenges in rural areas persist due to limited healthcare access and awareness.

I believe that different localities of the women may not vary much in the prevalence of different species, while different factors will drive the effects on pregnant women. The factors include socio-economic factors, access and availability of right and quality Healthcare access information products diagnostics and interventions. Religious cultural activities can also impact the effects on pregnant women. Not forgetting the stage of pregnancy.
